Veydra Cine Mini Prime MTF Optical Bench Tests

Because, to be quite blunt, the Veydras just kick some serious resolution butt in this comparison. To be fair, though, Zeiss CP.2s have never been about absolute resolution. On the other hand, when you move up to 4k and eventually higher footage, the resolution is going to be more important than it was at 1080p, especially on smaller sensors.

Sadly, Veydra is effectively dead...at best on life support...and not producing new glass. (Sounds like a double-whammy from a burglary and internal drama.) Getting harder and harder to find MFT mount versions anywhere.
 
One person commented almost a year ago on one of my videos

These lenses will be that sort of thing where they will go unnoticed while the company is still in business. Then one day Veydra will close shop and all of a sudden their lenses will be hip with chic film makers. Everyone will be trying to find used ones and a Veydra lens will be like the Holy Grail...they will go for crazy amounts of money...

I was on the fence for years. I appreciate their quality and size, but I live by the adage "Date cameras, Marry lenses." I could never get comfortable dropping the money for a set on lenses that can't grow with me to Super35 or full frame camera bodies. Still...part of me wishes I had pulled the trigger.
 
I thought they had mounts for other short flange cameras like Fuji and Sony and that they would cover super 35 (APS-C)
 
You can change the mounts to Sony E mount or C Mount. However only the 19mm and up focal lengths will cover S35 sensor.
The 12 and 16mm lenses will not cover beyond MFT GH5S DCS full gate.

I've got a full set of Fuji X mount and Sony E mount lenses that only work on their respective bodies. No regrets.
