Just shoot my first footage. I was shooting dv50, my only concern of buying HVX. Holy mac that looked amazing. Cristal clear images. Very nice colors and sharp as hell.
Because of its low light "thing" I shot +9db to get enough light. Very acceptable. And about the noise thing. I don't have problems with the whole "noise issue" so far. There is noise, but have you checked your own eyes at night!
Pretty much you get for not much money.
I did a lot of P2 shooting. Never tape again :) . Shooting, dumping, editing, within minutes. I use dvx for years, I was amazed by its quality. But when you see good Dv50, different world.
Worth every penny

dolph- congrats on your new HVX. keep the reports coming (especially if you can include any footage from where you live) -- I'd love to be there, breaking in a new camera!

Oh yes, and it gets worse with age. In fact, it's gotten to the point where I only turn off the lights at bedtime to save energy.:)

I know what you mean. DVCPRO 50 is nice. I also wont go back to tape. I even took my tape camera and linked it to my hvx200 and converted my DV stream into MXF file. I love how it work, you can add comments and stuff... It just great.

As for noise, my point exactly. I wish it were more sensitive at night, but it still not too bad...

The camera does love some light. Exteriors look unbelievable, sometimes better than some Varicam footage I've shot.

I'll have my personal copy on Friday and thankfully won't have to be bumming off my buddy...
