i left my camera in my car (which i do all too often, lesson learned) and it got very cold outside but i live in cali so not too cold. i duno, maybe 20 at the least. my motor inside my dvx is very loud now and gets picked up by the mic. anybody else experience the same problem? thank god for costco.

I've kept my HVX in below zero temps for an extended times with no problems. I can't see how leaving a DVX in the cold overnight would effect anything with the motor

The problem may have arisen, if you took the camera from the cold temp. right into a warm temp, and then immediately turned it on. If you had used it in the cold, or let it adapt to the warm a bit, it may have been fine. I think.

Seriously cameras can withstand these fluctuations. if theres a problem, have it fixed under warranty.

It's a condensation issue, if there's an issue at all.

Put it in a 200-degree oven for about 30 minutes to dry out and you'll be fine.*

*not really

The noisy motor in another known issue of the DVX. Has nothing to do with the low temperature exposure, it's just a coincidence. Maybe you'll be able to get the heads assy replaced under warranty, I would definitely try it.

i think im an idiot and its the autofocus motor. but i never noticed how loud it was before this!

Didn't your Daddy ever teach you not to leave EXPENSIVE things outside? That noise you hear is the DVX yelling at you for doing that! Be kind to your camera , it will be kind to you! But seriously...warranty should cover.

Yup, Costco will fix you right up............ and they'll even shrink wrap that baby and sell it "good as new".
