It is a "Haier 7-Inch LCD" (model HLT71)

You do know that's a cheap TV, right, not a monitor. No 720p... in fact, the screen resolution is about 480x270. Given the only input is CVBS (composite), there's no chance of using a 720p screen anyway from an external source. But these cheap TVs... and there are many of them these days... are using the same sort of LCD panels that have been found in the cheap portable DVD players for years.

Obviously, there are times when any old 7" screen is better than the possibly tiny one built-in on your camcorder. And the screw mounting is a nice touch. But don't oversell it.

And it's also slightly cheaper on Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001E78UQY...e=asn&creative=380341&creativeASIN=B001E78UQY

I bought a similar TV for my wife last summer, so she can watch TV in the tub. The main feature was ATSC tuner... her old 5" TV ($5.00 at a yard sale) was useless after the NTSC-switchoff, of course. You don't notice the low resolution from several feet away on a screen that small, but this is no replacement for a "real" monitor when you need the resolution.

Didn't know that about the resolution,I am contacting Haier about it now,it's written on the box as clear as day (720p Resolution).

I didn't really plan on getting the best resolution in the world, that why I said it's great for jibs and such!

I use it myself for pulling focus, and setting up shots,so resolution really does not matter to me,and I really don't see why anyone would need the best picture quality in the world? I don't plan on watching movies on them! haha

Thanks for your comments, and concerns,I just think it's a really great monitor for under $100.00

Although great for the price, I need real HD - I spend a little more on a liliput 7" which is HD via HDMI - very clear and amazing for around $200.

Funny I actually have this monitor. Not really a great monitor though. I only use it when I'm using my 8ft jib. Helps me see the angle the cam is at but i wouldn't trust it for focusing or color.

True Mad! Lilliputs are great VIA HDMI.
We use it with the Rebel T1i!
Do you have a Lilliput personally?

I use a Haier here at work all the time as a "confidence" monitor. It goes out on engineering gigs and camera gigs alike. Very handy for when I need to just "look at the picture". I wouldn't use it for critical quality control; but for framing it's more than ample.

I wasn't aware there are more than one model.
A 7" with NTSC & ATSC & QAM tuners.

It even tunes our station's HD signal right off cable-TV! Of course the screen resolution isn't there, but it can decode the 1080i signal from the RF input just fine.

I will take some pictures,Me and the rest of the crew are goin' on a paranormal
investigation for our new web series,I will get some action shots there, and you can plug your camera in via RCA IN,and I have 0 delay,I looked at the actual delay,it's like 5 millaseconds! (nothing your eye can tell) If you have anymore questions,I will be more than happy to answer!

Here is a pic of it in use!

i picked up one of these today, target still had lots of them. the quality isn't that good, but for $32 for a portable tv/ basic monitor it's a good deal.

anyone using the 10" model, at 800x480 resolution would be at least usable, composite in is fine, don't need critical color.
