Very interesting DVX 100B Question

QUICK ONE: How do I clean the lens?

INTERESTING ONE: My DVX 100B camcorder works fine with every tape I have recorded on and some that I recorded with my Sony handi-cam. But a friend gave me 8 mini DV tapes to download for her and my camera doesn't play them. I don't know what she recorded with, but does it matter if it's mini DV? Any suggestions?

Suggestion: Don't put your friend's crappy tapes in your $3,000 camera.

I thought you said your question was "very interesting". ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

PS-You can clean the lens with an inexpensive chamois cloth that they sell at camera shops. Also, to avoid scratches, put a UV filter over the existing lens.

Could it be that your friend shot HDV? No standard-def camera can play back tapes that were shot on HDV (which also records to miniDV tapes).

look up the lens cleaning issue - been covered lots. search is a good thing.
