The first article just describes the formats. Nothing new to that. The specifications for both formats are widely available.

About the second article. I'm very familiar with Mercuris since he is also a greek and we share an interest in digital, pro audio and electronics. He actually sold me a mint DVX We have discussed a theory a few months ago on how an HD camera can be done out of PAL sensors. Everything was ok untill Barry released the new chart. The new chart were better than the model would be. The old charts were extremely close to the PAL sensor model. Mercuris has also done a scaling/deartifacting technology for compressed formats and has been extremely helpful in my uncompressed project.
