I want my 5 minutes back. This is just a stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid ad for how great Ericsson is with home electronics by remotely turning on, wait for it - the microwave (wow!) and the same lame crappy rumba vacuum running on the carpet (never seen that before, wow how original) and a few other idiotic appliances. Then some banal boring idiotic moronic commentary by the blog guy who features this stupid ad. I typed all this up to save you time. If you still watch it, consider yourself to have been warned.
Well, geez, tell us what you really think about it, Corpse. I beg to differ.
First, the ad was well produced and peaked my interest right from the start. Second, while some of the technologies have been seen before, it shows them in a new light, and even though it's fiction, a new intelligence. Third, I'm extremely interested in the advancement of technology, specifically the theorists that believe in singularity. Having been around these boards for years now, I'm assuming that more than a few others would share my curiosity in the field.
Then on to the blogger: Even if there was no advertisement and he was just ranting, I'd be interested. The thought of electronics companies really wanting humans to reach for products rather than human interaction is a debate on it's own. And I don't mean now, where the answer is obvious. I mean when these products evolve into things it's hard to imagine in our current times. When we really depend on them more than just a cell phone.
P.S. It's not about a microwave being turned on remotely. It's about a microwave being intuitive and making a decision itself to either be turned on or off.
