Very good info if you are searching for good handheld sound recorder

I'm surprised at you posting this review Vitaliy. It seems to be not directed towards filmmakers, and so I think it's a lousy review, and not only because I disagree with it's conclusions.

For example:

A big deal is made of the Tascam having normal XLRs instead of dual use types with a built in jack socket. That's irrelevant for film use.

No mention is made of the Tascam's having analog level adjust controls unlike the Zoom, which is a very big plus for dialogue recording.

The Sony, having no XLRs shouldn't have even been in the race for filmmakers - it's not appropriate. Marantz 661 would have been the obvious alternative to test with the others.

And like you said, there were some glaring errors made too.
