**UPDATED**
Alright,

So I got my DVX a couple days ago, and just today had the time and courage to take it out of my hotel room.

In The Forest

These are just clips from a nearby park. Shot, captured and edited in about 3 hours.

Please note **I don't own a tripod**

If I did own a tripod, trust me I would've used it. But alas, I can only use the equipment I have (hands, and arms). So I know that would be a large critque of the video.

Other than that, what do you guys think of the video?

Below are some grabs.

**UPDATED WITH BETTER CC GRABS**

Looks good for the first go of it. Better than my first shots. Your stills look far more noisy than the footage...export settings?

nice grabs. did you use the anamorphic adapter or shoot in squeeze or cropped mode? I have to ask this - how can you afford a $3500 camera and not have a tripod? just curious.

They are just dirty jpg saves straight from Vegas 6. Thanks for the compliment.

Also, the video has been blurred as a result of .wmv compression, so they aren't as noticable.

This was just shot in cropped mode. I don't even have an external monitor (editing on a laptop, for now.) I must say that trying to come up with footage while your job keeps you on the road in a hotel room is quite a challenge.

Because "affording" to me is having a new credit card with 0%APR for the next year. I will get a tripod, but just wanted to get the camera in my hands first. Then do some research on what tripod will work best for me.

Thanks!

If you boost the contrast you might get some brighter results. Right now, as is, they're kind of muted. Otherwise some great stuff. Good luck and have fun!

Thanks for the compliement!

Yeah, I kept most of the default settings for F5 while shooting, bumped chorma phase to bring out greens in a few shots.

The main point of this project was to just get out and see how the DVX is to carry around for a shoot.
