Very bright

I was filming outdoors last week and the camera wouldn't film. It wasn't very bright at and it was zooming in on deer in an open field. Pissed me off. i couldn't see anything. It was very white. I used my cheap ass slave camera and it worked fine. Any suggestions on what may have caused this?

Re: Very bright

Personally I never use Auto Iris sans ONE TIME to lock it in (I have my DVX default to a -3). After that, I switch to Manual as I just do not want any fluxuations in the image.

Next time, hit the AUTO IRIS once to dial in and then hit it again to turn off whereas your exposure should be good; keeping in mind any ND settings or
zooming after the fact.

Re: Very bright

Jigmic, you should never really any function set on auto that's only if grandma is using the camera. All professionals have everything set manually.

Re: Very bright

I will check the iris and ND filters. I will preset it to -3. Thanks for all the help.
