Very basic question about 24p

Hi guys,

I´m about to buy a Mark II and I know that when it first came out it could only shoot at 30p, then latter this was updated via firmware ( Version 2.0.4 firmware if I´m not mistaken) and now you can choose between 30p and 24p. Is this valid for ALL Mark II? Say, if I buy this camera and it has an older firmware is there any limitation that could stop me from installing the new firmware? I just don´t want to spend all this money and then find out I cannot shoot 24p.

thanks in advance

Rafa

Hey rawfa,

All Canon 5d Mark II's should be able to shoot 24p. All the bodies of the 5dmkii should be the same as the first models up to the lastest made with exception of the firmware installed. Firmware upgrades are common place with most dslrs today. I wouldn't think there would be any problems updating a firmware unless the camera itself is already fried.

Best,
Andy

It will for sure work with 24p, and chances are if you can find a new one somewhere, it's probably already got the latest firmware installed.
