Remember the wood handle grip for Arri 16mm film cameras? I would really love to see an updated version for the af100 to replace the stock grip. soemthing adjustable and comfortable.

What say yous?

You could whittle your self one then show us how it turns out.

I'd love to see some wood on an AF ... wood brings soul to a piece. If you find something or get something custom made, please post your results here. Maybe you could modify the front end furniture of an AK to fit your AF: http://www.ironwooddesigns.com/IWDsite/IWD2pchg.html

Choose your wood type, treat it with a few cured layers of diluted linseed oil (if you haven't used it before, be careful not to leave the rags sitting around as linseed oil soaked rags get very hot and can spontaneously combust), and then finish it off with Briwax.

The Arri cameras had some kind of metal/plastic grip. Aaton was the one with wooden cherry hand grips.

Sorry, I didn't see "vertical" the first time I read. Probably the most similar shape to that would be a wood "pistol grip", maybe a hybrid that has a thumbhole stock shape. Not of a similar shape, but you could also try to find a wood "vertical grip" for an AR, and that would be your best bet for finding something that has an easy way to mount it to your rails.

I've now logged over 1-year in development of the Hot Rod Kung Fu Grips. I won't even say how many revisions of the grip I'm on anymore.

It might be the best design work I've ever done. I think I'll finally be able to share a actual photo in February and possibly be shipping later in the month.

I don't think anyone will be disappointed, unless you have freakishly small hands. One size never really fits "all".

:-)
