GH5 Version 3 of Panasonic's 12-35mm lens

[BobKo]

I just read on CineD that Panasonic announced a new version of its popular 12-35mm lens. This latest lens would be the 3rd version... I have the first version (bought in 2013) and still use it all the time.

Here's a link to read about the new lens: Panasonic LEICA DG VARIO-ELMARIT 12-35mm F/2.8 ASPH. POWER O.I.S Announced | CineD

Like you, I have V1 of this lens. For the life of me I'm scratching my head as to why a v3 is a roadmap priority... Maybe because it's a Lumix M43 bread and butter kind of lens. I can think of many other lens revisions that I'd rather see. A v3 14-140 constant aperture ( f2.8 , 3.5 or even a f4) would fill a big hole for ENG-ish lenses for M43.

A yet again upgraded 12-35 was one of the last lenses I would have expected.
