Versatile Deck for HVX, DVX & others?

Which decks are the most versatile? Something in the $2,500 dollar range similar to a DSR-11, but perhaps something more current. Should certainly work with DVX, HVX, DVCAM.

You don't need a deck for the HVX. That's the whole purpose of P2. No time spent capturing footage.

Yes I'm quite aware of that- I didn't say anything about 720 or 1080.
I'm talking about the standard DV capability of the HVX... and other cams too.

I'm considering the Panasonic AJ-SD255- It's a bit more expensive... but I may have got a used one with low hours lined up.

cheers!

im using Panasonic AG-DV1000, but i look at internet this JVC model... JVC SR-DVM70 3-in-1 Professional Series, it looks very cool... is under 1500 dlls...
take a look at www.yahoo.com serch engine.

I think the DSR-11 is still the king when it comes to low priced DV decks.
The one we use at work has been going strong for over 5 years now, even with daily use.

Panasonic deck?

Panasonic deck?

What about the Panasonic AG-DV2500? Looks like you can grab one for about $1500.

From Panasonic's site:

AG-DV2500
DV PROLINETM VTR with DVCAM Playback and IEEE 1394 Interface

U.S. List Price $2,095.00

Panasonic deck

Panasonic deck

Yeah I know. I'm looking at other websites, specifically Amazon of all places, $1594, a little cheaper on some others.

I just posted that as a reference point. Generally speaking you'll find better deals from resellers since the manufacturer has to protect their distribution chain. It certainly doesn't help them if they undercut their distributors.
