I own some great Manfrotto tripods.
Also when I want to move very light I use the Slik Sprint video tripod.
The tripod is very light, small, and well build, but the head is jerky.
So I decided to change the head, for a very light however smooth one.
I just discovered this one and seems to fill the requirements as far as size, weight
and performance.
Does any body experienced this one ?

I'd be interested to hear other's opinions too.

Currently, traveling light, I'm using these tripod components:

Benro Travel Angel Carbon C068MC 1.8lb (only 14.5in folded).
AcraTech leveling base .5lb (this base is absolutely wonderful).
Manfrotto 700RC2 fluid head 1.1lb (light, but only O.K. performance).

Dan I'll buy the AcraTech leveling base , as far as the head I'm mentioning I'll highly appreciate if you have any news or at least any review
about it.

Felipe, I've also been looking at a pocket alternative to my heavy gear. All from film days and 20k plus loads. I'm shooting with a 60D and saw this head I want to use on a small tabletop tripod that also can be strapped to railings.
I haven't seen this head yet but the little 686 head i tested is smooth and has adjustable drag on both pan and tilt.
I'm gonna get one as soon as I get near B&H but here is a post I did find about the 52Q

ROCKMORE, Thank you for the review, the first guy says that he tested with a weight over the head capacity, so hard to consider his opinion.
the second guy tested with telescopes and had a good opinion, however is different to a test with video.
The HMC40 is in the weight range of this head .
The 686 head has great comments, that is why I thought that Velbon makes good fluid heads in that size/weight, range.
I'll highly appreciate if you have more news or more reviews about the FHD 52Q. The 686 head is out of stock at BH since long ago

Besides the FHD 52Q is metal made, half the weight, and smaller
