But truthfully, that is one of the reason it is great we have several options available. The competition is driving each NLE to catch up and surpass the other. Much as our company prefers Avid, they really hampered their Express software before FCP started becoming so popular. Now they are forced to provide the features they use to only included on the $50,000 machines.

Wait 6 months and the other guys will have it. Ain't it cool?

I'm jealous of the way i hear Vegas handles 24pA footage. Anyone know why FCP doesn't do this?

That's a damn good question. You'd think all NLEs would be working to make it as easy as it is in Vegas. I just capture and throw it on a 24p timeline. If I accidentally drop it onto a 60i timeline and start editing on that, I can, at any time, go into the project properties and change the timeline to 24p without screwing up anything I've been working on. It's great for idiots like me.
