Vegas to FCP ???

Hey all,
Hope this isnt a lame question that's been answered a million times already but I'm new to this site. Anyway, I'm running FCP 4.5 and my buddy is running Vegas 6. I'd like to get his captured footage to edit in FCP. Thing is neither he nor I don't know exactly what format FCP natively captures to, the file info only says "QuickTime File". Question is, simply, will a Vegas raw capture scratch file (.veg I think) work in FCP or what would it need to be converted to?
 
Vegas captures as DV in an AVI wrapper. I would have to think that FCP captures as DV in a MOV wrapper.

Vegas WILL edit the DV MOV files, but it doesn't really care for them. I believe the AVIs will have to be converted to MOV (Quicktime) in order for FCP to ingest them.
 
Well, there ya go.

The important thing to remember is that DV is the codec; AVI and MOV are just the wrappers.
