Vegas Pro 14 new features

Does anyone know for those of us that took advantage of this V13 to 14 $199 deal, how we get V14 now that it's released? And which version is it we get, Vegas Pro 14 Edit?

Now they have a sale on outright buying Vegas 14 Edit, Vegas 14 Pro or Vegas 14 Pro Suite

They have said that over the next couple of days people will get an email from them with the link to download and license the promotional V14 from the 13+14 deal.

I expect it to be the Pro version, since the deal was for the Pro version of 13.

I can't believe you use Vegas Mac. I mention Vegas and people snigger. I'm not sure about this new version as it feels more like your paying for plugins from other companies but the native ProRes and 4K upscale sound great.

There is or used to be a pretty strong herd mentality within certain segments of the film/video production community, or even the wider creative community. I've read stories here of people at the time sniggering at someone using a GH2/3 (instead of a 5D mk2) and some NLE other than FCP. Let them snigger. Use what works for you. Many of these people cling to whatever is the most popular solution as if their life depended on it, regardless of if it's a better solution for them or not.

I decided to take the first upgrade offer (13+14) to support Magix for their effort to support and improve Vegas.

I do 95% of my work on Vegas honestly.

I think I'll get the pro 14 version at 249. Mercalli is pretty good and I use it all the time.

I just purchased version 14. It does not add breathtaking capabilities compared to the older versions BUT the following three reasons are good enough for me:
- Mercalli V4 comes for free with it
- Prores native support means not only 10bits, which is great, but also my lovely F35 footage or any Slog footage recorded on prores now can display the full values, no more highlights clipped.
- I want to help Magix, so that they keep investing in Vegas in the future, hands down the most user friendly editing software out there right now.

No e-mail yet.

I will wait a couple of days then contact them.

Everyone who likes/uses Vegas should, IMO, step up, as Macgregor suggests, to encourage ongoing development. I love Vegas Pro.

I rarely use Vegas, but since I won't be using Adobe after CS6 no longer does what I need, I may start using it a lot more. Glad it's still around to give us another option besides the rental cloud

Awesome! I've used it since V8 and it's hard to switch to anything else :)

Have you tried the 1080 to UHD upscale with your F35 footage?

?Installed the Demo and I do not see ProRes in the Render as/Export codec selections.

I presume it has all the old Sony codecs like XAVC I, HDCAM and XDCAM etc?

Love the ProRes native support, haven't tested it yet, but I did a double take when they said it was coming.

The other big one for me was that they added a simplified and less resource intensive way to integrate and design graphics and overlays. Haven't tested it out yet, but if it's usable it will be a huge upgrade for me.
