Vegas Pro 14 new features

I just received an email: $199 for vegas 13 and included the future vegas 14 for free.
i think I'm going to buy it and move up from 12.
Maybe vegas will become my main edit software when I finally have to move away from CS6.

Any chance that email offer is available for anyone, or is it tied to your account?
 
if this is true, it's pretty awesome! But I have a question, I remember testing vegas when I was considering moving to PC, which has been delayed at the moment, but couldn't find an option to cut the beginning or end to playhead -that is, without opening the trimming window-. It's a simple thing and probably my mistake, but is it possible?
 
not sure I understand, but if clip is on timeline, place cursor where you wish to cut, hit "S" to split, click on the part you wish to delete, del key to delete.

I'm sorry I didn't explain myself well. It's the FCPX trim -beginning or end of current clip- to playhead option+[ or option+], I use it everyday but couldn't find the option when I tried Vegas. Maybe it was a problem with the spanish keyboard, but couldn't find videos or articles describing the technique for Vegas.

I loved when I tried it and the fact that it could play easy and editing was fast it nearly sealed the deal. I hope it was just my mistake, and if not, maybe it will be in 14!

You can double click the clip to make it the time selection then use HOME or END keys to go to beginning or end of clip. This will work for any time selection or viewable area http://dspcdn.sonycreativesoftware.com/manuals/vegaspro12.0_keyboard_commands_enu.pdf

With the default keyboard layout

Alt+[ will trim the beginning of the clip to the cursor position.

Alt+] will trim the end of the clip to the cursor position.

Just today I saw your post linking to the offer by Magix on Vegas Pro 13 with free upgrade to Vegas Pro 14 when it becomes available. The page says the deal ends tomorrow, July 31st, so I'm really happy I saw it today and jumped on it. I've already received my download links and activation codes.

Yea, I'm also glad I saw it and acted on it! :) As qazwsx wrote, it does appear that they have extended the offer until August 31st now, which is good for the next forum member who reads this thread :) Glad to hear that you've been helped here - and through this thread you're also helping others. Although I'm only an occasional video shooter and not so active here, I do have the impression that people are very helpful and that the atmosphere in the forum in general is good.
