Vegas Pro 10 Announced!

"It has gone from the most stable NLE around, to the buggiest and flakiest. I can't even FATHOM trying to cut a 3D project on this NLE."

So true. I've used Vegas since the first version, and it's still my favorite NLE interface. But Sony Vegas Pro 9 may be my last version for awhile. It's gotten progressively more unstable with each update of version 9. I liked it enough to find work-arounds for it's a lack of support for DVCPRO50, but it's lack of implementation of all of these HD codecs that it's competitors are able to handle is a major turn-off. The limitations on 3rd party hardware are not helping either. Nothing I've have seen over the last few years allays my initial suspicion that it is intentionally crippled so that it doesn't challenge Sony Xpri in the broadcast market.

I have Adobe Production Premium 4 for Photoshop and AE, but I am going to give Premiere another chance after shunning it for years. If I can learn to like the interface, I'll upgrade to 5. If not, I'll give Edius a shot. I've been impressed with it for years, and it rarely gets much respect despite an impressive feature set and an apparently user-friendly interface.
