Vegas m2t recognition problem.

I am using HDVSplit to capture HDV, from an XH A1, as an m2t file. When I look for it in Vegas 8 PRO, it does not even show up as a file in the folder in which it is save. I see while browsing outside of Vegas, and Nero 8 opens it.

Do I need to convert to another format for Vegas 8?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Well, it turns out you're right! it only opens through a shortcut, not from my program list.

The $400 bargin came packaged in a box that looks official, with complete documentation and the works. It looks like I'll have to see what legal options I have. So much for great deals via e-mail offers.

Where does this stuff come from? It looks to good to be small time.

If you paid $400 for Vegas, it should be legit. Maybe Reinstall like Eugenia suggested.

I have a problem with capturing HDV in Vegas from the camera. Is HDV split the way to go? I usually transfer from my Firestore with no issues, but sometimes I use tape instead.

I find Vegas chokes on HDVSplit-caotured files if I enable scene detect. Anything more than around 50 clips and Vegas does not run properly. If you bring in one big clip and chop it inside Vegas it is much better, but of course it is more tedious.

Yes and no. Some people hit a bug where with the XH-A1 where it creates a gazillion small files when capture. You will have to download the Vegas trial and try it yourself.
