Super Video

I can't understand why when I showed it to my wife and said "See, I told ya that the dvx is a super useful gizmo!", she just groaned and shook her head.

Women just don't get the "Artistic" clout that owning a dvx brings. ;D

Re: Vegas Ladies

Hey Zombie, Nice shots! If you're interested in having them go to a video let me know, I think they'd look great and be well received in my next snowboard video. The audience allways likes a little ass in between the tricks, and usually these type of shots are crappy night vision 1 chip shots, but I like the quality of these beautiful DVX shots.

You guys are a riot! I love it!

All the footage was hand held shot on F1 using different mixes of white balance and gain. Considering the lighting was changing every 5 seconds, the footage came out fairly well.

Once the interview from the boxer is released, I'll follow-up with this thread and show you guys that. There's no hot chicks in it, but the interview is with a world champion boxer  ;D

I'm a huge boxing fan, so I'll be interested in seeing the interview. Can you at least tell me what weight division, so I can make a guess at who it is (I'm assuming he's a current world champion, right?)? ;D

Re: Vegas Ladies

Since its in vegas my guess is that its winky wright. It can't be mosely because he isn't champ anymore. He will be on the 20th though.

I think Winky will beat him again. I saw nothing from their last fight that would suggest otherwise. I was thinking about dropping a $550 on Winky. It is boxing though, so anything can happen. Shane just hasn't been very impressive since he stepped up to 154. I thought he lost the rematch to De La Hoya quite clearly (and I don't like De La Hoya). So, to me, nothing good has came out of his fights at 154; he's looked awful in each of the fights at that weight and looked really bad in his last 2 fights at 147 when getting beaten twice by Vernon Forrest.

Shane does deserve tremendous respect for not taking a tuneup fight before going after Winky again. He always goes for a rematch when he loses and for that he deserves great respect.

I just hope if Winky wins in a closer fight this time that the judges don't try to rob him and give Shane the decision. I'm not going for either fighter though, because I like them both. I just hope we get a good night of boxing with no controversial decision.

I'll be fairly surprised if Shane wins legitimately. If he does then his new trainer definitely made a difference.

Re: Vegas Ladies

Do any of you know where I can buy boxing fights on DVD? I'm interested in like the mid '80s welterweight division. The entire Hearns, Hagler, Leonard, Chavez, Pryor, all those guys!

Re: Vegas Ladies

Hey Matthew, tell ya what, I don't know about your standards but I wouldn't kick a single one of them out of bed. ;D

You might want to sign up on a boxing forum like www.boxingtalk.com (the best one) or www.eastsideboxing.com, because they have users there that sell boxing collections on DVD/VHS. Also, sometimes I see boxing dvd ads at www.boxrec.com. It's a records archive for nearly every boxer, past or present. Ebay is another source.

Re: Vegas Ladies

There is a guy I deal w/here in the 'Chi he only does vhs though (any fight you want). Fightnews is another good site for boxing info. as well.
Skital... do you remember what Goosen did for Diego in his rematch w/cassamayor? Think he can work the same magic for Shane?

It's very possible, but it just seems that Wright has too many advantages. I expect the fight to be a bit closer this time around. If it's a fairly close fight with Wright winning I am kind of expecting Shane to get the decision from the judges.

Re: Vegas Ladies

I don't know anything about recent boxers. I watched it most in the 80s. Are there any Hearns, Hagler, Pryor, Chavez, out there?

I hear Gotti, Hoya, and Lewis was supposed to have been good too... I missed all that.

You really missed out on some great boxers from the 90's. There are still all time great champions fighting right now too.

Re: Vegas Ladies

Skital,

Really?I just found this sweetheart of a guy who dropped 40 dollars off the asking price for the fab four fights- duran, hearsn, leonard and hagler.

I think it's like 8 or 9 odd fights, most of them 'all time classic superbouts'.

Who are some of the better middle , welterweights?

Re: Vegas Ladies

I remember in the 80s, they made cartoons about wayne gretsky, micheal jordan and sure enough- riddick bowe. In super nintendo games, they had a boxer, boxers were heroes.

Do you see kids storming around third world countries barefeet chasing Mike Tyson, cheering, ole!

No. You see people biting people's ear, you see Don King get even scarier and crazier, you see many legends fading away, watching some of these old battle scared warriors is like watching an old lion attack an elephant for the last time, knowing it's death. Taylor is one example of a fighter to look at now (but boy does that kid have heart) , Hearns is training his son who might have just recently made his debut, and wtf Foreman is coming back and boxing at 50? Who else did that? Jack JOhnson maybe fought his last match around 50 but that was 1930s?

I don't know, let me know of any good fighters or recent fights that you would recommend me watching.

Re: Vegas Ladies

I did see De La Hoya's debut fight a few months ago in his new weight division- was an excellent fight as any, but it doesn't seem like the universe was involved in it, the way a fight would have effected us in the shadows of ALi and Frazier.
