I was just wondering if anyone has experience with the vegas dvd program. I use encore right now but I love vegas 4.0 expecially with my 100a(24p and all). I was thinking about buying the dvd program so I downloaded the demo and I was not very impressed. am I doing something wrong or is the dvd builder limited in its functions. I tried to make a button from a jpeg and it won't let me you have to use the buttons supplied unlike encore you can make a button from a picture I really like vegas and all its features but wonder why their dvd program would be so basic.(kinda like my dvd from sonic)
any help would be great thanks ;D

Re: Vegas dvd.

Yah I know encore does not do 5.1(I don't think) and vegas dvd does. I was just wondering why it felt real basic I was hoping it would let you do whatever you want. encore seems pretty good but a little more complicated until you get the hang of it. I guess I was just expecting more from vegas dvd since their vegas 4.0e is so good

Re: Vegas dvd.

You can do more than you think with it. It doesn't (presently) have alternate audio tracks or subtitling, but there is more to it than meets the eye. And it's really easy.

Re: Vegas dvd.

Encore has more of the DVD features that you'd expect in a commercial DVD (subtitles, audio tracks, menu transitions, etc.). DVD Architect was made to be a simple DVD authoring program that worked, but not much more. I'm told that most of the cost of DVDA goes to the Dolby AC3 licensing cost.

Personally, I would use Vegas+DVD to encode all of my video/audio (so that I can encode 5.1 surround if I wanted to), and then author the DVD in Encore because it is currently a more robust program.
