Hey, I just posted this in the AE forum, but I thought Vegas users might find this interesting as well.
I haven't tried it myself yet (due to a currently nonworking edit bay), but I just found out about this plugin that allows you to import an EDL exported from Vegas into AE as a composition!
Here's the link: http://www.forgedimages.com/vegasimportorder.html
Vegas EDLs have been pretty much useless in regards to what an EDL is primarily used for (to move a project to a different NLE, etc.) as they don't conform to the standard EDL format. Finally, with this plugin, I'm glad that Vegas' EDL is nonstandard. Because, if it were stardard format, you could always plunk down $500 for automatic duck to import your seqeuences into AE as a composition. So the question is, how much does this plugin cost? A whole 1% of that of Automatic Duck! Yep, $5!
There are some limitations of the plugin, but for a $5 plugin that allows you to export your Vegas edits into AE for finishing, who cares?
