I just did a fresh install of Vegas 8.0c on a new Windows XP Professional machine.
I noticed with this install, when I single click on a MTS file in the explorer window for a file preview, I get sound but the picture is black. Sounds like a codec is missing.
Edit: I was crazy - it's working normally.
