I just got a promotional e-mail for Vegas 5 and Vegas 5+DVS. What do you think about the new features relative to the upgrade pricing? $149/$249 USD. Worth it or wait?

Well, yeah, if you want those things. Plugins and separate software to do any one of those things, really, would cost you in the ballpark of $150.

Of course, my question is . . . how much "support" is there for ACID loops? Is it to the point where you no longer need ACID at all?

Re: VEGAS 5 new features- worth the upgrade?

The reason I ask is that I'm sort of locked in to Premiere 6.5 at least for now. I have V4.0d but have only used it very little. The Matrox DTV system purchased in 2000 (basically) only supports Premiere has shown itself to be somewhat of a disappointment for me and Matrox dead-ended the hardware so to speak. A real *$%^ deal for a 'Pro-level' cardset. But that's another story.

Just looking for a reason to build a better system with Vegas I guess.

doesn´t in-sync´s Blade 2.2 also support the DTV? and it is still the fastest and most felxible software i found so far. i do my bezier masks in AEFx6.0 when needed, everything else is in SpeedRazor/Blade.

You are probably correct on these points. What I meant is that the hardware doesn't support Vegas so I need to capture and play out thru Prem. This is the heart of my problem. (long, boring story.) It may be I need to start from scratch and redo the system. Can't do this now as I'm struggling to finish a fairly large project. Looking ahead to a less hardware empowered system to one that just optimizes Vegas. Of course, there's the money issue.

Cheers,
