VDSL[R] 1080p flickering

I am a total noob when it comes to video. I used some consumer camcorders in the past, played with video on Nikon DSLRs (D5000) and now have a GH2. What I notice is that even at 1/50 shutter in 1080p24 or 1/60:1080p30 there is that "flickering" effect when you pan that is only present on the DSLRs or hybrid mirrorless cameras. I tried lowering the shutter speed even further but it does not help. 720p60 is cool, but I hate to kill the resolution just to make things smoother.

What causes the "flickering" if it is not the high shutter speed?
I just want to understand the nature of the problem.

The Framerate is causing the "flickering". Shooting at 30p, 60i, or 60p would clear it up. But, yes, you will lose resolution when you do 60p because it is only available in 720p mode.
I have found that at 1/125 shutter, the framerate plays a little better as far as the flickering when you pan.
I understand the dilemma, unfortunately, the framerate is what is keeping it from being smooth.
