Would you be able to use something like this for outputting from the HVX component cables to a computer monitor?

It says it does 720p and 1080i. Would it also be able to transcode a 1080p signal?

I've got a 19" LCD monitor, 1280x1024 resolution. If I output a 720p signal, would it stretch it across vertically or would it only use the active pixels?

Anyone have one of these that could try it?

Got one, couldn't make it work. The Lik-Sang worked for me but it's difficult to make work at times.
