Vdeo devices PIX-E5 and A7S?

If you could give us your impressions about the footage and the quality of the screen it woul be great!

Does anybody know what codec makes sense when recording from the A7s? Does anything better then prores LT 422 8bit make sense? Prores 422 and prores 422 HQ are 10bit, which the A7s does not ouput. Want to have the best quality without wasting drive space

I've never regretted shooting hq (actually I usually shoot dnxhr now). For corporate gigs I'll shoot lower quality because it's still better than internal, commercial and narrative always hq. Eoshd says no quality increase, but I've seen other tests where shadow details are noticeable.

I've seen noisy 8bit source footage improve in HQ. BUT definitely diminishing returns and most of the time no real difference at all.

I would say the opposite(external footage has more noise/grain/texture) as the internal codec/data rates just don't hold onto that kind of detail. What you WILL end up with is a much more robust file(prores/dnxhd) with more latitude(no artifacts, more color information) that can be pushed/pulled in post.

Just came back from using the pix.-e5h for a project and I am just impressed. Not only is the display amazing, the footage looks amazing as well. Yes, more texture but lots of detail, not even a problem to pull stills from the clips. good stuff
