ok, i spent that last week and a half getting comfortable with the recording function and settings on the panasonic dvx100b. all is good. except for problems in playback in vcr mode.
for some reason, it keeps looping back to a certain point in the footage, and will not play past this one point. i first noticed it when trying to scroll through the footage in FCP when trying to log and capture. i unplugged the firewire and found the same problems when trying to view in vcr mode. and even though i thought i rewound to the beginning of the tape, the time code on FCP is still showing it at a specific point at the 5 minute 26 second spot.
any help? also, to how do you record over a tape? i assumed you would just rewind to the beginning to record over it, but that doesn't seem to work (yes, i have the tape set to rec). or are these tapes not rewritable. please forgive me for my lack of understanding. i'm a musician!
