Since I haven't been looking Panasonic has sneaked out various series of P2 cards. When I originally bought my HVX200 you only had "R" series. I know about the 'cheaper' "E" Series BUT I now see that there is an "A" Series!!

Is there a resource anywhere that explains the differences and Pros/Cons of each of them?

Looking to upgrade some P2 cards for when my (when it comes!) HPX250.
Cheers

There was the original series, which had SD cards inside. Those were only ever made in 2G, 4G, and 8G sizes.

Then there was the "R" series, which did away with the SD cards and used core memory components instead. I think those were 16G and 32G sizes, don't remember if there was a 64.

Then there came the "A" series, which were boosted in speed. They were 800mbps whereas the older series were 640mbps.

Now there's "E", which use faster MLC memory for even higher speeds (1200mbps) but at the expense of much shorter total lifecycles. The original, "R", and "A" all use SLC memory guaranteed for 100,000 rewrite cycles, the "E" series don't last nearly as long.

Original and R are discontinued, replaced by "A" and supplemented by "E".
