Varicam CAC compatibility

Been offered a Fujinon HA18x7.6 BERD lens, but after checking the Panasonic site for lenses compatible with the CAC function https://eww.pavc.panasonic.co.jp/pro-av/support/cs/csregistp2m/ep2main/cac_note_e.htm the BERD version is not on there, just the BERM. Seems strange as the BERD version is the one with servo focus and is more expensive because of it. Quizzed Panasonic UK and they say as far as they know the list is accurate. Anyone know any more or have tried it?
The HA22x7.8 lens is compatible in both BERM and BERD forms.

It shouldn't make any difference as long as it's a BERD-M48 or S48, not 28. Check with Fujinon to confirm.

It's actually an S58 not 48, according to Fuji that's the latest version and should work with CAC. It's just that it's not on Panny's list, on the HA18x7.6 BERM M58.

Got the lens, tried it, it works!
The CAC function with this lens seems to make such a tiny difference you have to look very hard at large blow-ups to notice it.
Also, even with the CAC engaged it has worse CA than the Fuji HA22 I have here that's not CAC compatible! They are from the same range of lenses (HA Premier series) so it's not that the HA18 is a cheapie lens.

Steve,

But you are seeing a difference with CAC on vs. off with the HA18X7.6? I've seen the CAC circuit work wonders with the low end Canon and Fuji lenses, so I'm surprised the CAC file, if it's the correct file for the lens, doesn't address all the CA error.

I have heard that the CAC works well with cheap lenses (ie taking dreadful CA down to OK levels) while with premium lenses like the HA18x7.6 it's less effective as the levels are already low enough that the CAC can't do much with it. That's the impression I get.
