VaricamLT: Varicam Audio in Premiere CC

Looks like there is a major issue with Premiere CC 2017 (11.0.2) misinterpreting Varicam LT codec audio. Where before PPro created the proper number of PEK files (in my case, two mono and a stereo pair - three PEK files in all) so that all four channels of audio would import and play as four different tracks of discrete audio, PPro is now creating only a single PEK file and bringing in a single audio track, but replicating it four times to create four tracks of audio all seemingly using only channel one audio off the Varicam LT footage. This makes it impossible to use Premiere CC at the moment, as I am losing three of the four audio channels. Anyone else encountering this? I do see some similar issues over on the Adobe boards and the Creative Cow boards.

I've noticed that something is strange with the audio, but since I've ony been using one audio source lately and haven't had issues with what was recorded, I didn't investigate it further.
But what you're writing here confirms what I've noticed myself. I've sent your post to an Adobe representative I'm in contact with and we will hopefully get an answer soon.

He has replied and says that the issue is known and is solved in 2017.1, but when you update it will be 2017.1.1. He suggested that we update and see if there's any difference.

The deleted files issue is also solved in 2017.1.1. He said only to make sure that there's no media "inside" the Media Cache folder, and that (if one cares to do it manually) the Automatic Deletion of Media Cache can be set to off in Preferences, if one wants to be absolutely sure.

I've heard that it was not fixed in 11.1.1. Have you tried it yet? I could update from 11.0.2, but don't want to go through that if it turns out not to be solved yet.

I tried it today, it solved the issue for me.

A bug: When zoomed out the waveforms will look like before, so it will look like it's the same audio track on all four channels, but when you zoom into the timeline they change and you can see the difference. The audio is correct all the time.

It works! There is an issue with proxies that were created using 11.0.2 - they won't properly update the audio, so the workaround is to delete the proxies (movie and pek files) and regenerate them.
