FS7: Variable ND adaptor

I heard the earlier non electric version of this was very poor. Be interested to see if they have made any improvements.

On the surface, it looks like a useful tool...though it's another item to carry. I tried using a front end variable ND and while it works it really only works like 3/4 of the way through the ND spread. After that you get a strange moire', almost butterfly like. It's because a variable ND is nothing more than two pola's that rotate. You could probably make one by mounting a true pola on to a circular pola. Same thing will happen towards the darken side of the ND.
I'm guessing this device is also a pola and may very well have the same issue.
Just conjecture on my part though. In any case I would want to test drive before I committed.
