Variable Framerate Reversal Question

I think I saw the procedure of how to do this in another thread, but I just couldn't find it again after hours of searching.

You know when you shoot variable framerates it looks one way through the lcd/viewfinder, but on playback it looks different? I want it to look the first way.
That's the easiest way I can explain it.

I know this can't be done in camera, but I recall seeing someone post about either using a frame rate converter so that it disregards the 24pN and just gives you the 12fps/60fps/etc.

Any help? I use FCP.

Thanks!

I tried using the DVCPROHD Framerate Converter tool in Final Cut Pro, but it gave me an error saying it will only work with 720p59.94 or 50fps footage.

Speed it up or slow it down in post, whichever is appropriate.

If you shot 48 fps with 24pN, speed it up to 200%. If you shot 12 fps, slow it down to 50%. And so on.

Acutally I think I figured out what I wanted in camera.

I changed the settings to 720p60, set the variable framerates and it gives me the desired effect.

I'm hoping when I bring it into FCP and convert the framerate to 24p that it should maintain the look.
