VARIABLE FRAME RATES @ 1080p

Are there any hints on any new upcoming cameras from Panasonic that will (finally) allow recording varialble frame rates at 1080p instead of just 720?

Thanks for the input! :)

The VariCam 3700 does full variable frame rates from 1 to 30 in 1080P.

You can get 1080P frame rates of 1, 2, 4, 8, 12, 15, 24, and 30 frames per second in the HVX200/200A and HPX170. It takes a little more work to get them, but they're there.

I thought the hack only worked on 720p

So am I able to shoot 30fps at 24p? and can I shoot 24p time lapses, it seems to only work in 30p not 24 when recording in 1080? Could you (Barry) elaborate on your above answer and explain the "intervalometer" and slow shutter speeds to achieve different frame rates.

Hey Barry, I remember that you mentioned the SONY EX1 shoots booth 1080i aswell as 1080p.... but looking what you said earlier, your saying that the HVX200 can shoot both 1080i and 1080p?!?!?! Is this a typo or a hack?????

speaking of variable frame rates and overcranking, which of the methods achieves quality slo motion with minimal light loss (or is this a new thread. I'm kind of new to the forum)
