This little ditty has now made the short list at the Vancouver International Film Festival 60 second Film Contest. The Rules: 60 seconds or less in any format - submitted in DVD. Must showcase the new film center (just 2 blocks from Jarred's place). We did what no others did - we went into an upstairs storage room in a garage across the street. We then shot through ancient and filthy rippled glass.
It has some original music (written in a newfy folk style but suggesting east european influence - this fest has a lot of east europe films). To play with the east europe theme we used a Krasnogorsk-3 16mm camera as a prop and an armenian actor.
It screens at the festival next Thursday.
I think it has some production warts growing on it (e.g., mic picked up on the sound of the accordion stops hitting the wood). We used a fade in to cover up some of the rippled window glass blemishes. Oh... and we completed this for delivery in one evening and one work day.
Your feedback is appreciated (e.g., what could i have done to improve it?).
thanks as usual
