Value?

I'm considering selling my HVX setup to get a 7D kit.

Considering what I have here, what's the consensus on what I should be asking for this?

--HVX200 (152 Hours)
--16 GB P2 Card
--GigSkinz Camera Bag
--HVX Boot Camp DVD Vol. 1&2

I'm the original owner and have babied this camera. It also includes battery, charger, all cords, original manual, etc.

I'm just putting my feelers out, looking for some opinions... thanks in advance!

just a bit of advice...

a DSLR is NOT a direct replacement for a traditional video camera.
there are a LOT of things DSLRs arent well suited for, and a number of extra things you will have to buy just to get what you had with your video camera...

unless you ONLY do feature style work. you will be sadly surprised

$2200-$2500 depends on if there's sand in the focus ring, if the battery tabs haven't snapped off..

Thanks for the input. My situation is as follows: I have an HVX that I bought to shoot a low-budget documentary, with the intention of selling it as soon as I was done. I have all of my primary interviews shot, and am now considering selling it and grabbing a 7D to finish shooting B-roll, exteriors, etc.

My other use for a 7D would be to shoot short films/webseries on my own.

I'm not a DP?Videographer, and I don't use my HVX to get outside work, so I don't think it will retain the value for me personally.

a few things to consider with a DSLR:

no running autofocus
inability to control zoom/focus/iris remotely
"jellovision"
you will need an external device (and possible software hacks) to capture high-quality audio

not saying that it cant be done. or that in many cases its not a good idea.
but a lot of less-experienced folks are fooled into thinking a DSLR will be a drop in replacement for their video camera
