Why Valley of The Queens?

I wanted to produced a film that was rich in visuals and stimulus; I want to present the idea that hive minded culture and thinking weakens those encompassed in it and worse the next generation. On the surface Valley Of The Queens is a light hearted Fictional comedy about Queen Nefertari of 18th dynasty Egypt, time traveling. Her time in the future and her return home. In actuality the story explores the difficulties in trying to think as an enlightened individual when no one cares about true individuality and critical analysis. Queen Nefertari has no idea how much harder that is said than done. Never before in my tenure have I held so much knowledge about film language, I will use this production to implement as much of it as possible. The most interesting factor will be the play on exposition and the effect its tone will have on the entire film If the rest of the film’s tone is different.

Synopsis: After an annual meeting at the ‘Valley of The Queens’, Queen Nerfertari and Nefertiti come to the conclusion that the future generations of the world need a spiritual awakening. Queen Nefertari decides to time travel to the future to find a young person she can inspire to positively influence the new generations. In the future Nefertari meets Romell a student filmmaker struggling to finally make a good film. She tries to influence him to influence the world for the better in ‘Valley of the Queens’.

OMG! A black woman playing an African queen! How dare you! It must be Angelia Jolie anytime there's a role like this! What you couldn't afford her? I'm sure she'd do it for free if you'd just call her agent and let them know that there's another role where she can play a strong black woman I'm sure she'd jump at it.

Seriously Vinark, I loved this! Great work. What was the budget? I know it wasn't millions but I like the costumes and the actors. I love the sci-fi element. The scene where she pops up in dude's room was great. His reaction had me cracking up. The sound needed a little work to bring it all to the same level, but all an all I really liked this.

If you can rewrite and reshoot this and get it to about an hour and ten minutes max, I think this would be great for urban teens or frankly any teenager in a history or humanities class to open up a real dialogue about Queen Nefertari or definitely about the difficulties in trying to think as an enlightened individual when no one cares about true individuality and critical analysis. (I got through this a lot, particularly the critical analysis part, critical thinking isn't taught anymore).

Please move forward with this. This is an awesome youth concept and I think adults will like it too. I watched the whole thing and the funny stuff was funny and you made your point without being preachy or overbearing. I can see this as a PBS show too. By the way, you can embed the Vimeo and Youtube video.

Thank Very much for your feedback!

@ Nate, I strongly agree that the sound could be much mixed I did not spend enough time on that aspect. I will strongly think to making an extended version of this piece.

@El DIrector, this entire film was shot in Savannah GA Last month. Thank you again.

There's definitely a market for movies like this in the educational sector if you can get in there.
