Other: v90 SD cards: ProGrade, Lexar, Sony, others?

What have been people's experiences with v90 SD cards? Or what would you recommend or avoid?

For years I've been relying on SanDisk SD cards and they've been fantastic. I don't think I've ever had a card fail on me (knock on wood). Unfortunately I'm not seeing v90 cards as an option from SanDisk, which means I have to go with another brand.

ProGrade looks promising and seems to have great reviews at a great price.

Lexar was a solid contender but somewhere along the way I heard they were under new ownership and the quality/reliability had tanked (though I don't know if this is true).

The Sony Tough-G cards are well reviewed but not as well reviewed as I'd hope for their price (compared to the others).

I'm also curious to know if people have heard of manufacturers other than Sony coming out with CF Express type A cards anytime soon.

Any thoughts or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have two 128GB Kingston that were way cheaper than any other brand I have seen and they have worked flawlessly (for two months, though, so can't speak about durability).

V90s are new to me so I can't speak from personal experience yet. On the Canon message boards, people have reported buffer and corruption issues with Lexar and Sony Tough cards, so I ordered some 256GB ProGrade cards which no one seems to be having trouble with yet.

I have a mix of ProGrade and Angelbird V90 cards, and all have been reliable so far. I had one slower Angelbird V60 card that died completely a few months back, however. Getting it replaced was a pain since I needed to send it to Austria, but the company was friendly and responsive.

I use dual recording to both slots whenever practical now, at least until I feel more confident about these alternate brands. I've never had any trouble with a Sandisk card but take their hesitancy to release V90 cards as a sign that they may think the technology is not quite mature enough to meet their standards yet.

I am watching this thread as Prograde and Angelbird are mainly just names to me. Sandisk and mP2 cards are what I have used for a long time. It is strange that Sandisk has not adaopted the V-rating system. Seems like they are leaving the door wide open for competitors. Even V60 cards are without a Sandisk entry on B&H. I know they make fast memory but why stay away from standards?

Just picked up a ProGrade 128 and 256 on Black Friday specials. Just got a Gnarbox 2.0 so will hopefully have one more fail-safe against card failures. I have a mixture of Sony tough and Lexar 2000x as well as a couple of 80gb CFExpress A for the a7s iii.

I bought ProGrade v90 for my A7siii - and have had no issues (though to be honest - haven't put it through any tough situations yet). If you're going the CF Express route - I believe these codes will still get you discounts when buying direct:
120GB - 120GB$20OFF
256GB - 20OFFCFX256
512GB - CFEXPRESS512GB
1TB - 1TBHOTSALE

Thanks everyone for your suggestions!

I'll likely pull the trigger on one of the cheaper ProGrade cards along with the Sony G. I'm nearly always doing dual-slot recording, so if the ProGrade turns out to be a dud I'm covered (I hope).
