V1U camera repairs needed

I have a sony V1U that is giving me problems. Every time I turn it on it says to "reinsert tape" with a code of C:31:23.

I have done some research and it looks like it needs to be sent in. I know sony will fix it but I am guessing they will charge and arm and a leg??

Anyone have any recommendations? I found a place online called Videoone repair. Anyone ever use them?

That the exact same thing I am getting. I sent it to VIDEOONE..and they came back with a very high price of 477.00. What did you end up doing?

I just got my camera back from video one for the same code. It cost about 500.00. WAY too much money. There are other companies that charge 300 for it. If I would have know, there is a guy on EBAY that fixes them. He has 100pct positive feedback and he is in NC. I would send it to him next time.
