Hey guys,

I am currently using swit batteries with the p tap to power our f3 and ex3s. these work great but I’m looking into moving up to brick style V mount batteries. I'm a little confused I’m looking at IDX for the batteries and chargers, but i can't seem to find the correct adaptor. can someone out there help me find a V mount adaptor I can use on my rails or cheese plate that will accept a v mount battery and will power my F3 via the XLR and then have a p tap I could use to power an accessory or two.

any help is appreciated

What I use to power the camera, VF and AJA mini is the IDX P-V 257. 3 powered by one. Most of those are made to do a quick connect to a full size camera and just bolt on. What I did is just cut off that connector on the back and soldered on a short 4 pin cable. All your dealing with is 2 wires, a positive and negative. I had to dremel a little half circle at bottom of plate to put the cable through and get the back cover to close. It's easy.

You cannot find one that had the 4 pin (already attached) and the extra 2 D-taps that you will need.

4 pin goes to AJA mini and a short 5 inch D-tap to 4in to camera (You can make easy), and D-Tap to Metal Cineroid.

JUST ALWAYS KEEP YOUR POLARITY CORRECT! ON a 4 pin the #4 is the positive and the #1 is the negative. USE A VOLT METER to check the D-tap positive and connect.

Can't tell if the Movcam has a 4 pin attached or you have to go D-tap to cam. How many Dtaps does it have? If only one, you'll wish you had another...
