The more interesting question would be:
When does Panasonic release LUT(s) for VLog to BT.2020 color space?
When does Panasonic release LUT(s) for VLog to BT.2020 color space?
That is a good question. Is the GH5 series even capable of Rec.2020?.
Ehy, I'm new here. I have a GH5 from 2-3 days only. I need to know if I have to pay to use V-Log. Thanks for some info.

Many users prefer HLG to VLog-L, & it comes free with the GH5. Haven’t tried it myself because I mostly handoff my footage, & don’t want to to get to deep into explaining the HLG workflow to Post.
Effectively, there is no use for it. There is no practical way to distribute and consume wide gamut SDR. When people speak of 2020, it is usually only in the context of the color gamut, which has been incorporated into HLG, HDR-10, etc. Thanks again, Trickster.
Though the chart does reinforce the question...where's the official V-Log to Rec. 2020 LUT?
HLG is a quick-delivery profile. It is not suited for grading or any serious color correction. I‘d go for V-Log over HLG for most of my use cases.

The tldr; version is that the entirety of rec.2020 is an SDR standard that for all practical purposes has never been adopted. One part of it, the color gamut, has become the basis for other standards, like HDR-10, that *are* being adopted.Thumb drive won't suffice? I mean, HDR is an option for UHD, Rec 2020 is a requirement.
I know you have done measurements so I do not doubt your findings but my question is how can that possibly be?Have to strongly disagree with you I'm afraid. HLG uses more of the 10 bit space AND has more accurate tonal density than V-LogL.
The even shorter version is that you will struggle to find any SDR display that supports rec.2020.
