V detail freq MID?

Hi-
I have read a few posts on vertical detail, but little discussion of the MID setting. I am currently shooting my first wildlife doc, which will probably find its home on DVD, but I am striving to see it in some fests and broadcast.

I have been taking great pains to get close-ups with high detail using a Canon 500D. I will also be staying away from man-made objects, like venetian blinds and striped fabric.

I hate to be stuck with THICK. Thus said, with a final destination on interlaced TV, I would also hate to have flicker be a problem. Anybody had luck with MID?
How about shooting in THIN and just putting "Reduce Interlace Flicker" on any induividual scenes that flicker?

Thanks

I'd say go with thin to get the most out of the picture, everything will be of higher quality, and if you do get a few scenes that flicker just take care of it in post with a slight blur.

I'd like to know a little more about the MID setting on v detail freq. I'm sure that I'll use THIN over THICK because of the higher resolution it gives, but I'd still like to hear how big of a difference in resolution the MID setting is compared to the other two.

I read an article about the original DVX100 saying that THIN gave 480 lines of vertical resolution, while THICK gave 360 lines of resolution. Are these figures the same for the DVX100B, and again, what about MID? How many lines of resolution does it give, and is it worth using at all?
