I dont know if it's just me being stupid, but...... I cant take the UV filter off my camera :S the dude at the store put it for me, and now I just cant take it off lol. Soooooo... was just wondering if there's like a release switch maybe ? Maybe I simply need a membership to the gym cause that thing aint coming off with my muscle :P Any ideas ?

It's like ... I don't know, pretty much you just need to jerk it off.
Like with your forcep muscles and what not. I'ts pretty much a simple fix.

Or you could use a vice grip and ****in twist and pull like that. Twist and pull. And then POP! -- off it comes. Simple.

If that doesn't work, what I found is that you pretty much need to lube it up. After applying the lubrication and what not, one good titty twister should do the job.

Hope this helps. It's a rather simple fix. Okay?

i find that the harder I grasp it the worse it gets. try grabbing the filter with a moderate grip...not creating uneven pressure points on the ring. Then gently try turning...it should work

Thx peeps, :P it worked, AND I didn't have to use lube , muhahah. And btw Mr. sodotoguwangus, you might not want to use the words " jerk it off.... ****in twist... lube it up...titty twister" in the same post lol. hehe I'm just being stupid, thx alot for the advice :P

no way. no way. Super8 is a witch.

I had a $12 uv filter stuck on my $400 lens and have been struggling with it for about an hour, and finally searched DVXUSER.

Now when I mean 'struggle', i MEAN it. I benched 225lbs yesterday, and this lens had me panting just now.

But Mr. super8 comes along and says to apply moderate, even pressure, like some kind of hippie-jedi. I'm thinking 'No way.' But apparently he's right. A mild, even grip, suitable to pet puppies with, dislodged the filter in about 5 seconds.

whatever. It just ain't right.

For others faced with a seriously stuck filter:

They make a plastic lens filter wrench expressly for this probem. Should be available at most major photo outlets.

In a pinch, carefully wrapping a belt around the filter rim accomplishes much the same result as the wrench, providing that even pressure needed for release as noted in the earlier post. No lubing, jerking, "poo pooin" or bench pressing required.
