UV filter price?

I want to buy an extra UV filter in case my other one gets scratched in the field. I saw some cheap ones for like 6 bucks online. I really just need it to protect the lens from dust or scratches, I don't really want or need it to do anything fancy.

Is there a normal price for these things, like 20-30 bucks, or can I get away with the 6 dollar range? I'm on a penny-pinching budget and want to save any money I can.
 
I just bought one tiffen uv, when I first got my dvx. That lens only saw about 10 seconds of air before the uv went on there forever. Tiffen is the best class, or that's what the ASC articles say.
 
Yeah, it's not even expensive- 30 bucks for one on amazon. I have a Tiffen on mine right now, but I got everything used. I noticed some very very light scratches (you have to turn it a certain way to reflect the light to even see them- if you just hold it up to the light straight on, the filter looks flawless..) and I got pretty paranoid about scratches. So, I'm not sure if I even need one, but I'll probably shell out for a Tiffen in the end.
