I have just bought the Canon HJ17ex7.6 IRSE lens for my HPX500 and just wondering if anyone knows of where to get an 85mm thread screw on UV filter to protect the lens? I can't seem to find an 85mm one... only 82mm or 86mm... I am sure the filter size is 85mm (that's what they say the lens size is...) anyone know how or where I can find one... or what I have to do to make another filter work?

Hello Morgster,
The filter size is 82mm with a pitch of 0.75.
If you aren't interested in filtering UV and would like to just protect the lens with glass, I would suggest the Formatt Clear Optical Flat. It's HD glass with no effect on the light what-so-ever.

Just select the 82mm round in the drop down menu and you can generate the price that way.
