I have now shot 230 minutes of footage for a 3 minute music video and I still havnt even shot the band yet. 3 minutes i tell ya.
This is gonna be one gargantuan edit.

Think I need to tighten up my storyboards.

Re: utter madness

Sounds like what im doing, cept, its for a 4 minute music video and ill probably have 120 minutes

Re: utter madness

it' sounds like a tighter vision from the storyboard is really needed. 230 minutes, that's insane it's like a 77 to 1 shooting ratio... good luck

Re: utter madness

Hey lets not forget that Coppola shot 200 HOURS of footage for apocalypse now !! And that was on 70mm FILM !!! I think thats the biggest advantage of digital. Shoot away, you never know!! As long as it's all usable footage right? I know when I'm on a shoot I get all the preplanned shots first but different things always catch my eye and I usually go with those unplanned shots in the edit. Spontaneity can be your best friend. Just my opinions.

Re: utter madness

Yeah have to agree....especially since we had about 30 locations scattered all over the place which i had barely visited.

Still one learns so much from each project that one does.

Re: utter madness

..i think they are asking where your screengrabs or footage are because you posted this in the "screengrabs / clips of DVX footage" section. ;)
