Using The Hvx200 Remote Control

I was doing some time lapse work with my HVX200 and had some problems with my remote control. First the scenario:
-fixed tripod, 1000/sec shutter, 720p, camera defaults without auto focus or auto iris.
-shot 1 minute/footage at 30/fps, 1f/2f, 1f/4f, 1f/8f, 1f/16f.

The problem was that after the remote stopped working I tried to go into pause mode but the camera would not respond to the record button being pressed either on the handle or at the 'camera on' button. I had to shut the camera off in order to stop recording. This is a mystery. Is anyone out there able to shed some light on this? I know that the battery expired on the remote but I couldn't understand why the camera wouldn't shut off as it would otherwise. In spite of this problem the footage turned out beautifully.
Thanks,
David Bruno

What do you mean the camera doesn't respond?
If you hit the Stop button underneath the handle it will stop recording and go into pause mode.

Hitting either record button in interval mode won't do anything. You have to hit the stop button underneath the handle.

How can I say it more plainly... the camera would not respond. This has happened a few times and is transient. I have hit the stop button underneath the handle and it would not respond. Is there anything else that you can think of? If I can't get an answer here it's off to 'ABEL CINE TECH' for some expensive professional help....

Are you sure you're hitting the stop button then?
That's how it works on everyone else's camera. If it doesn't on yours then something is wrong.
I just fired mine up in interval mode, hit record, then hit the stop button and it stopped recording right away. It switches to I-Pause which blinks to let you know it has stopped recording.

So either yours has a problem or you're doing something like hitting the pause button instead of the stop button.
