Using the GH2 with monitor

Hey folks, just grabbed a GH2 and all I can say thus far is WOW! Thanks to the great Oct 19 adapter I picked up off Ebay I think that my 7D might be gathering dust for the near future.

Anyway I noticed that the EX Tele conversion option does not work when I have it hooked up via HDMI. Anything I can do to work around this?

Ah I figured, should not be a big deal at least. The only thing I miss on this vs the 7D thus far is the on camera level, cant wait to get out and shoot with this thing.

Yeah, small caveat I guess considering how much this camera does. Now if only the hack can give us ISO's less than 160!

I got mine yesterday. Although its body feels a bit too plastic, it is jam packed with features. ETC - love it! Audio meter - love it! 1080p 24fps and 60i (real 60 frames interlaced) - love it! 720p 60fps - love it! Variable frame rate - love it! This little camera and my D7000 (great 1080p 24fps camera with super low light capability and dynamic range) pretty much covers all I need.

It's my personal opinion, so take it with a grain of salt. GH2 will be my B cam and for special shots (slow motion, real close up shots using ETC, low angle shots etc.). When shooting 1080p 24fps (80% of what I shoot), I will choose D7000 in almost all situations. I like the image out of D7000 better. Now.. how much better you ask.. hmm. I think image out of two are comparable, but I just like what I see out of D7000 a bit more. Dynamic range of d7000 is great.

Once I get my d7000 back, I will shoot something with both cameras and post the footage here.

Now, back to original topic!

D7000 is nice. Great for photography. D90 users love D7000. I would love D7000's great DR for photography.

The weak DR of m43 bodies really sucks. But GH2 for video.

Continuous AF is something we don't talk often here. See this guy's video. http://vimeo.com/22527113 For the lack of better words, the video is cool. Shoulder rig, bike mount, helmet mount, or whatever. Grab a camera and start moving along w/ subjects. It adds a whole new dimension... I think. Also seb33's video is looking better and better. He moves and chases his cute subject. GH2's future hack's high bitrate will prolly make it looking better. Motion is beautiful. Move the camera itself, too. I don't think I can do it w/ D7000. Just my 2 cents... although I wouldn't mind getting D7000. Hehe.

I never used autofocus on GH2 or D7000, but I heard GH2's auto focusing in video mode is miles better than D7000.

GH2 + 14-140 + AFC give kickass continuous AF. That should work great when a camera needs to move fast along with a subject. More new flavors. Add more spices. Mix of fast vintage lens + fast continuous AF m43 lens. Why not? :)
